Steven Safirstein is Managing Director and Head of Asset-Based Lending at Pinnacle Bank (formerly Synovus Bank), where he oversees the firm’s ABL strategy, including origination, structuring, underwriting, and portfolio management of senior secured credit facilities for middle-market and specialty finance companies. His leadership combines deep technical expertise with a passion for innovation, and, throughout his career has consistently built high-performing teams that deliver exceptional client outcomes.
With over 20 years in financial services, Steven has held leadership roles across banking, fintech, and specialty finance. Prior to his time at Pinnacle and Synovus, he drove growth and operational excellence at Breakout Capital, a fintech lender, and Seneca One Finance, where he led debt capital raises, totaling over $500 million, and executed several multi-million-dollar portfolio sales that delivered significant shareholder value. Earlier in his career, Steven worked in FIG M&A investment banking and corporate development at FBR & Co.
Steven graduated cum laude from the University of Delaware with dual honors degrees in Finance and Management Information Systems and a minor in Economics.
